The robed man stood tall in the face of the Angmarim messenger's challenging stare. Any weight on his foot still caused him a nauseating level of pain, but he would not show weakness to these men, not at this time and not in this place.
"You'll get the money when you've cleaned up your mess, you worthless maggot," the hooded agent said, his hand tightening on the hilt of his sword. Krenet straightened. This man would come to his personal haven and threaten him? He made no move to acknowledge the threatening stance or the looming presence of the agent's two well muscled guards.
"You'll give me what you owe me, dog, or you won' leave this cave alive, eh?" Krenet said, tilting his head forward, lips curling into a snarl. Sensing he could bully the wounded man, the Angmarim moved to draw his blade, his two guards doing the same. Unfortunately, they'd failed to notice the several crossbowmen lurking in the depths of the cave and in the next few moments half a dozen bolts sprouted from both guards, throwing them backwards into the shallow water.
Krenet was as quick to react, grabbing the Angmarim's sword-arm at the wrist and driving one knee up under his short ribs. While the man gasped and doubled forward, the greasy fugitive brought a free elbow up hard into his nose. The sickening sound of the man's nose being driven up into his brain echoed in the small cave as the agent fell lifelessly atop his two guards.
Five men arose from their hiding places in the small cave once all motion had ceased. Krenet pointed to one and gestured him to come closer. "You will take these bodies and dump them in the water, as far up shore as possible. They met their ends at the hands of this girl and her companions. You," he said, pointing to one man and beckoning him closer. Without warning he slid a knife from beneath his robe and slashed the man across the cheek, then once more across his chest, laying open two very large wounds. "You saw the entire thing and barely escaped with your life. Tell our friends in the North. Go!"
The wounded man stumbled out of the cave, blood seeping between his fingers as he tried to hold his wounds closed. The rest of the men stared wide eyed at their employer, uncertain how to react.
"Take the bodies," he said, looking at the four stunned men with murder in his eyes, "And find the girl. Kill her- Kill all of the women. Just kill everyone, damn it! I'll not lose any more gold to these fools!"
((Time to get back on the road again folks! We'll be picking up the trail again from our spot at Mincham's Camp [that's his name, right?] in the North Downs, just outside Trestlebridge. I expect to be heading out either sunday the 29th or monday the 30th night, the normal time, either 7:00 or 8:00 PST. It's all subject to change of course, keep an eye out for updates, or just ask me if you have any questions. Also, if anyone wishes to play a disposable bad guy, that'd be great! I'm hoping to get in touch with the redwolds for some disposable baddies, but that might take some time, may have to be delayed for the final confrontation As always, if anyone has any suggestions, requests, or objections, please let me know! See ya there!))
