About Your Character:
General information:
Full Name: Belua
Nicknames: none officially
Age: Old enough to have young-adult children.
Race: human
Gender: female
Class: minstrel
Approximate level: 15 (Yes, I know I can't join until level 20 but I'm applying now because I need to know about the time - see 'time zone' below.)
Place of residence: no home, in Bree now
Place of Birth: Archet
Occupation: No vocation, waiting to see what my kinship needs.
Special Abilities: I discovered when Archet was attacked that I could influence people with my playing in a way that I had never tried before, causing wounds and even death. I am exploring those possibilities, because since Archet burned and can't support a minstrel, I've decided to spend what remains of my life fighting and healing fighters with my music.
Positive Personality Traits: Open-minded, not easily upset, I see the good in people before the bad, and if I see bad, I don't forget the good. I often find myself liking two people who can't stand each other. I love to perform. I'm open, honest and direct. I'm persistent.
Negative Personality Traits: Perfectionist, show-off (performing, not fighting), easily bored by routine, sometimes too open, honest and direct, and sometimes too persistent - ie stubborn.
Misc. Quirks: I don't know what a quirk is, but I'm told I have a lot of them. I do things my way rather than copying anyone, and some find my ways very strange.
Comments or questions about your character: I just started rereading Fellowship. I read the books decades ago, so my lore is weak. I want to figure out how to perform in LotRO. I'd like to sing if that's possible.
About You (Out of Character):
General information:
This information is optional but may help us get to know you better. Fill out only what you are comfortable with sharing.
Age: 70 going on 29
Gender: female
Gaming experience level (in LotRO and other MMOs): I have tried WoW, Talisman, Star Trek Online, and a few others. I stuck with Anarchy Online for awhile because I found a good guild there. I like LotRO better because there's more story to it, and AO won't let me sing. I've never reached a high level in any MMO, but in Second Life I am four years old and highly respected.
Role-Playing experience level (in LotRO and other formats): I started roleplaying when Gygax first came out with the little brown D&D books. I was thirty then so I'm used to being the oldest. I've played lots of tabletop and some live action, and some text RPs online like PernMUSH. In Second Life I play a Harper of Anne McCaffrey's Pern, and have played minstrels in other settings.
Your alts (if any): Belwil, elf female, level 9
Gaming style:
Please fill out this information as completely as possible. Rate how important the following is to you in LotRO:
Leveling: Six out of 10.
Crafting: DK, since I don't have a vocation. It will depend on how much the kinship needs the products. Four or five, I'd guess.
Exploring: Eight.
PvMP: Zero. I don't like to die.
End-game content: When I get there I'll find out.
Role-playing: Ten.
Socializing: Ten.
How much time do you spend on the most important aspects listed above? In LotRO I spend much more time soloing to level, but I play with rp on. I do explore, and die a lot that way. Besides socializing and RP, my main interest is in learning how the game works. For that reason I do all the quests. I started when F2P started and am still clumsy with the rp features.
Have you ever been in another Kinship or Guild? No
What is your time zone? What are your approximate game play hours and how much time do you play per week?
VERY IMPORTANT: East Coast US time. My doctor won't let me play after 8 pm. Hubby works, so my play time is East Coast US working hours. If you don't have people who play days or if you require attendance at night or on weekends I will withdraw this application. I'm applying before I reach level 20 to speed up the process of elimination of kinships that don't play days. I might play as much as 20 hours a week in the right kinship.
Any comments about yourself you would like to include: In Second Life, when I join a new group to get help, within a couple of days I'm giving more help than I get. That takes a lot of my time but I must enjoy it because I always do it. I expect the same will happen here.
I have poor reflexes and will never be a good fighter, so in a group I am not likely to forget about healing in order to fight. I am not used to working with a fellowship yet.
