About You (Out of Character):
I’m a 26 year-old American male with a love of fantasy, science fiction, horror, and gaming. MMOGs have been a big part of my life ever since I had a 14.4k modem installed in my home.
I’ve played tons from MUDs to EverQuest and more recently from World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online. I always enjoy immersing myself in these fantasy worlds and roleplaying in the the fiction provided. LotRO is by far my favorite online RPG by the simple fact that I was RPing LotR back in elementary school.
General information:
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Gaming experience level (in LotRO and other MMOs):
Started playing C64 and DOS games along side a healthy pen/paper/board/card game life. Have been enjoying the fruits of all things “game” from then onward.
Played a bit of LotRO back when it was new and had played on and off since. Now LotRO is my One True Game (as far as MMOs are concerned). I also hold a Lifetime/Founder account in Free Realms which is my vacation/fun time/silly play MMO.
Role-Playing experience level (in LotRO and other formats):
Been roleplaying in person and online since about 1990.
Your alts (if any): Wilona Greenburrow - Hobbit Burglar
Gaming style: I play something(s) at least an hour a day. I consider myself almost always IC while on LotRO.
Rate how important the following is to you in LotRO:
[On a 5 point scale]
Leveling: [3] Leveling was never all that important to me until they introduced The Tree. Now I honestly am addicted on seeing it blossom over my head.
Crafting: [4] I enjoy crafting in LotRO more than in any other game before. The crafting feels very fruitful and, from what I’ve heard, continues to be well into endgame.
Exploring: [5] Certainly high amongst these things, especially in a game as beautiful as LotRO. There are so many fine little details that I find myself often peeking over the next hill when I should really be heading back to vend, repair, and turn in.
PvMP: [2] I’ve played with it a little back when Angmar was the only game in town, haven’t really put serious time into it.
End-game content: [3] I’m very interested in experiencing the LotRO endgame. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in WoW’s endgame in it’s various eras and would very much like to see that of a different MMO.
Role-playing: [5] This is one of the factors that constantly edges out LotRO as one of my favorite gaming experiences.
Socializing: [5] Making friends through gaming is one of the reasons I often shirk my pile of single-player games. Playing online with friends can make even the lamest of games a riot.
How much time do you spend on the most important aspects listed above?
I haven’t spent alot of time RPing lately with my re-rolled Guardian, I have mostly been focused on levelling and exploring the new features since I last played. I soon expect to be a part of more RP and group activity, however.
Have you ever been in another Kinship or Guild? If so, what were your reasons for leaving? Yes, long ago. I left primarily due to inactivity. I was a part of Lond Treneri long ago, too... But I can’t recall with which character.
What is your time zone? What are your approximate game play hours and how much time do you play per week? PST (GMT -8) and primarily evenings to late nights (8pm to 4am). Many game hours are logged late as my job primarily keeps me busy til midnight sometimes. My ‘weekends’ are often early in the workweek (Monday-Tuesday).
Any comments about yourself you would like to include:
I have spent the past 5 years largely playing The Behemoth, World of Warcraft. I did have fun with it and met some great people but I really, really missed good RP.
I had some great RP moments in WoW and in many other MMO’s I had tried/dabbled in/tested over the years, but LotRO has always provided my favorite setting to lose myself in.
I am, first and foremost, a gamer who wishes for time distortion. I love so many games and have so, so many games. There is never enough time for all of them and MMOs are the most egregious offenders in this case. If I could I would devote time to a handful of great online roleplaying experiences but for now I must settle for the best.
I can also be contacted through Steam and Xbox Live as Bearhardt and I work intermittently on Let's Plays on YouTube under the same username.
