So I was stuck in traffic this morning with nothing to do but toss numbers about in my head, and somewhere along the line these rules just started to fall into place. It’s a rough draft mind you, and the way I work is I try to start off simple and then build up from there, so’s here goes.
What you need: Pen, Paper, Calculator (not necessary but damn will it speed things up) 2-5 players in a fellowship and sitting in a circle (It can’t be more due to the way rolling at fellowships work), the /roll emote.
Round 1, Ante up!: Every player puts up their ante at the beginning of the game, before the cards are "dealt" this is an relatively small amount set by the players, consider it buying your way into the game.
Round 2, Deal me In!: starting with the declared "dealer" and going clockwise, each character rolls 6d100 (that’s six values of 1-100) and keeps track of their values for EACH DICE. IE: Brendur rolls a 93, 62, 5,79, 43, and a 30.
Round 3, Place your Bets!: Now characters are given the opportunity to fold (cutting their loses to just the ante) or take place in the bets, keep in mind, the end objective of this game is to get as close to 300 from either side ( IE: 301 can beat 298) as you can (scoring a 300 in the last round automatically wins you the game!). To take place in the bets a character however MUST sacrifice at least one of their cards in exchange for rolling another value, players in this round can sacrifice as many of their "cards" as they like (even 6 if they're feeling REALLY lucky). Before folks place their bets though, all the players must declare how many cards they are going to sacrifice, after everyone is declared, bets are then placed. To stay in the game the highest bet must be matched by all the other players.
Round 4, Conclusion!: Once the bet is decided, the players still in strike the number of values they declared from their hand, and roll new ones. The closest score to 300 (or 300 itself) wins the game and the the pot! Ties on either side (or the unlikely event of more than one score of 300) are settled by the highest value in the players' hands, if those are tied, then the second highest, and so forth down the line. For rp purproses, it's customary for a player to shout "Hazard" when they score 300.
Optional Rules (alright alright, ALL these rules are optional, but you get my drift):
Wild Cards: before the game begins, declare a set of numbers (Odds, evens, numbers divisable by a certain number) or just one number. If anything among that set lands in someones hand, they can reverse it for it's negative value in their score, whats more they don't have to declare they are doing so, until the final conclusion.
So that's what I've got so far, any ideas or comments from the Peanut Gallery are more than welcome.
