I know I know, everyone has different tastes and what not as to what they want playing behind their game. I figured with this thread though we could post up what different musics work for us. There a band that you think captured Lotro or your character? Share for all to hear and speculate! To start us off, I personally don't put too much music with lyrics in my player for Lotro, as words tend to distract my fragile little mind. Of course you've got to be careful and chose something you don't mind hearing over and over again. SO one of my favorite choices are orchestrated pieces of video game music, particularly Chrono Cross and other bits of the Final Fantasy franchise. A lot of folks don't realize the genius behind some of the music game's provide us, if only because they've got a notorious reputation for having a limited sound range. Fortunately for us, people like the Video Game Orchestra Online community organize wonderful pieces where some of the classics are put to brass and string, instead of midi files. Here's one of their performances of Time's Scar. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVewiixiDug&feature=player_profilepageAlso, Tour De Japon has some fabulous pieces from Nobuo Uematsu www.youtube.com/watch?v=joMKtX5OO4o

Wow. Both of these are gorgeous! I'd post what I like to listen to while gaming but I don't think it would contribute culturally to this thread.

What, no one likes the game's music? Seriously, that's what I usually listen to, the game's music.

Thanks Bren, those songs are amazing!
Also now with skirmishes I have been rolling a mix of Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly during the Bree assaults and "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen during Barrow Downs and Amon Sul straight Shaun of the Dead style!

I <3 Shaun! Now if I can just remember who I loaned that to. It's been so long since I've seen it...

Necro-post, go! Personally, I'm a huge fan of the Eminence Symphony Orchestra while RPing. Grinding, its all metal, all the time. Also...better than Shaun of the Dead...Queen + Gurren Lagann. This may not make sense to those of you who aren't anime fans, but for those who are, I suggest the series. "Don't believe in yourself! Believe in me who believes in you! Yours is the drill that will pierce the heavens!" www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKD0EPI7Fwc

The game's music IS good in the towns and the homes, but I find it kind of lack-luster in the open environments, dungeons, and Moria. There seems to be little switch up, and after the song rotates about 3 times, I get this twitch in my left eye at the need to hear something different.

On about day three of playing the game I turned off in-game music. But when I got my CE of Moria I also got a two disk set of soundtracks. I'm just now, after two years and change, turning on the in-game music again in certain areas because now I know what to expect. Lothlorien's music is my favorite by far. Otherwise I exploit a few Pandora stations for Muse, Strapping Young Lad, and Daft Punk. *shrugs* Sometimes I'm in the mood for metal when RPing Cay just to offset the sweetness.

Honestly I have been playing some more mellow music during battles/RP/exploring ~ maybe I'm depressed ? Nah....just chill! The Shins, My Morning Jacket, Spoon, Joshua Radin, Keane, etc ... oh and Rusted Root!
