Vadalae gave her child the name Ithillian ("Son of the Moon") for the simple reason he was born under the moon's light in Loeg Ningloron. Haldr added the name Liam ("Strong-willed Warrior") in hopes his child would be the warrior he once was. Vadalae passed away during childbirth.
Ithillian grew up in Dale, raised by his father. Haldr trained his son in the art of combat with both one- and two-handed weapons. Ithil learned quickly and favored the use of two sworded combat, although he excels with any weapon given to him.
When Ithil turned nine years old, two girls were born to two other families. Ever the helpful one, he often visited the homes to help the women care for their daughters while the fathers were working as town guards. Cynawen and Brynhilda, as they were named, grew up knowing Ithil as a brother.
Ten years passed, allowing Brynhilda to develop a talent for music. In awe, Ithil shyly asked her to teach him. Since those days, he finds any time he can to sit and play his lute. However, his music did not distract him from training to become a town guard, just like his father used to be. Even still, he failed the trials every year for being too hasty in battle which could cause more people to lose their lives should an attack occur.
When Ithil was just shy of his twenty-fifth birthday, the little village was ravaged by bandits. Although he was not part of the town guard, he used his skills to fend off the attacks. The bandits lost half their numbers to Ithil's swords before retreating, but not before killing Brynhilda's family. He rushed to her broken house to find Bryn hiding in the closet. Cynawen, who also helped fend off the attack, found both of them shortly after.
A year later, Bryn left Dale to find the remains of the bandit raid to avenge her family. Even though he was able to track Bryn to Bree-land, Ithillian hasn't seen her since. He does, however, hear rumors of a young red-headed minstrel who vanquished the leader of one of Bree's strongest group of brigands.
Nowadays, Ithil sells himself as a mercenary, helping those who cannot defend themselves. He wears a hooded cloak to hide his elven features in the presence of Men so as not to receive odd looks or incessant questions. He enjoys a good story and is often found watching musicians and dramatic plays.
