Ciaphias wrapped up the "bounty" plot by discovering while in captivity that the Evil Genius that framed him for his crimes died suddenly. The bounty and searchers have been called off. This is Coltsfoot's version of a happy ending.
((Coltsfoot has taken her antidote at this point and is resting in the upstairs bedroom of the Kin house. She's sitting in a chair making arrows when Ciaphias creeps into the room unexpectedly with Eadlread close behind him.))
Ciaphias peeks in at Coltsfoot with a small smile.
Coltsfoot delicately binds a hawk feather to the shaft of an arrow, her tonge peeking from the corner of her mouth in concentration.
Ciaphias says, 'Hello, love.'
Coltsfoot says, 'Piss off.' She doesn't look up from her work, looking only to the fletching kit in her lap.
Ealdread smiles inwardly. "Ah, shall I go? I do not wish to intrude."
Ciaphias quietly inches closer, keeping his distance. He shakes his head to Ealdread with a smile. He says to Coltsfoot, 'It's over.'
Coltsfoot looks to Ealdread with a smile, ignoring Ciaphias. "Join me. I'm lonely here by myself.' She says to no one in particular, meaning Ciaphias,'I SAID piss off.'
Ealdread takes his spear off his back and lays it against the wall before stepping into the room.
Ciaphias says, 'That's never pushed me away before.'
Ealdread smiles warmly at both Hobbits, obviously amused.
Coltsfoot pastes a stern frown over her grin and looks to Ealdread. "I'm sorry, did ya say somethin'?"
Ealdread shakes his head. "No, gehola."
Ciaphias says, 'You're hearing things, love.'
Coltsfoot says, 'Ah. Thought I heard somethin' after I said PISS OFF.'
Ciaphias steps closer, keeping his gaze on Colts.
Coltsfoot tucks her new arrow into the quiver beside her chair and takes her time packing away her fletching kit, then lingers as she slips it beneath her seat.
Ciaphias says, 'I thought you'd like to know that our troubles are over.'
Coltsfoot silently glances up at Ciaphias, her eyes dark in her pale face. She thinks for a long moment. "No. Only some o' them. Yer still in a lot o' trouble, moron. What..."
Ciaphias shakes his head, smiling slightly.
Ealdread grins openly, watching the two with some great amusement.
Coltsfoot literally bites her tongue to silence herself and tries to ignore her husband again, turning bright pink in frustration and rage.
Ciaphias says, 'There are no more bounty hunters. No more bounties for that matter.'
Coltsfoot says, 'What?!'
Ciaphias says, 'We're free now.'
Coltsfoot folds her arms and looks to Ealdread. "Where did ya find this idiot?"
Ealdread says, 'He found us, gehola. I did nothing, I fear.'
Ciaphias arches an eyebrow and holds out his hand.
Coltsfoot nods. She winces and stands slowly, walking to Ciaphias with a sweet smile.
Ciaphias says, 'We're safe now. At long last...'
Ealdread smiles, arching a brow. "Best be careful, lad," he mutters, almost too softly to be heard.
Coltsfoot lowers her voice to nearly a whisper. "I hate the sight o' ya right now, love." She balls up a tiny fist and punches Ciaphias as hard as she can in the jaw with a satisfied grunt.
Ciaphias pauses as his eyes widen, then drops in a heap.
Coltsfoot clutches her fist in her other hand, swallowing a howl of pain, then boots Ciaphias in the ribs with a grin.
Ealdread laughs! "A mightly blow! Be easy though, gehola. He has gone though much.'
Coltsfoot looks to Ealdread, her eyes glittering. "It's... over? How?"
Ealdread says, 'I do not know. You should ask him, if you leave him alive tonight.'
Coltsfoot shivers slightly as she nods, prodding Ciaphias with her toe. 'He'll be lucky fer that, aye.'
Ciaphias shakes his head quickly, rubbing a gloved hand over his jaw with a pained look.
Ealdread smiles a bit. "In any case, it is done."
Ciaphias says, 'I have to say, I missed that too...'
Coltsfoot looks down to Ciaphias coldly. "I am a lass VERY scorned at tha moment. Consider yourself a batchelor fer now." She hugs her fist to her chest then realizes this undermines her mightiness.
Ciaphias pulls himself to his feet, looking to Colts with a straight face.
Coltsfoot narrows her eyes at Ciaphias.
Ealdread takes a few steps back, allowing the two more space.
Ciaphias says, 'As long as there's a chance for redemption.'
Coltsfoot says, 'Redemption? Fer gettin' both of us into trouble, me nearly dyin' and I still feel like I'm on fire an' been hit with hundreds o' boulders.. How can you redeem yerself fer this?!' She points at the swollen knot on her forehead.
Ciaphias pauses for a moment, then shrugs slowly. 'I suppose I can only hope that there's a far corner of your heart left for a down-on-his-luck Hobbit.'
Coltsfoot sighs softly and looks at the floor. "Happy news, love. But.. I wish ya coulda done alla this in a different way. But... I s'pose there wasn't one. I don' love ya as much as ya think I do.' She sets her jaw and looks to Ciaphias with bright eyes.
Ciaphias says, 'Doesn't change my feelings any.'
Coltsfoot tries not to laugh.
Ciaphias grins slightly.
Coltsfoot says, 'Aye, I know. Too many blows ta tha skull fer you, love. Yer an idiot. A plain old moron.'
Ealdread says, 'I bid you both farewell, geholen. Be well, and try to to kill each other, aye?'
Ciaphias says, 'That I am, for getting us into this mess in the first place.'
Ealdread smiles for them both.
Ciaphias nods with a smile to Ealdread.
Coltsfoot nods to Ealdread. "This one has some explainin' ta do ta account fer his actions. IF I let him live ta do so."
Ciaphias says, 'We'll try, at least I will.'
Ealdread nods, with a grin. "Yfeagar huntop then! HA!"
Coltsfoot bows unsteadily to Ealdread. "If ya see Mae can ya tell her I'm waitin' on that daft lass fer some medicine?"
Ealdread nods. "I shall. It would be my pleasure."
Coltsfoot scowls at her Kinsman. "Ya made that up. Now get out."
Ealdread winks with a grin.
Ciaphias holds out his hand cupped. 'Thanks for everything, Ealdread.'
((Colts sits on the Elven bed in the room.))
Ealdread takes the Hobbit's hand, and shakes it vigorously. "Aye, gehola. I am honored to help. I will go look for Maewynne. At least -she- smiles for me, sometimes!'
Coltsfoot makes herself comfortable and looks to the doorway expectantly. "This ain't gettin' me tea fer my pain, Long-Legs."
Ciaphias shakes along, allowing several large coins to remain in Ealdread's hand.
((A friend of the Kinship, Roanias, steps into the doorway of the bedroom.))
Roanias looks around.
Coltsfoot smiles a tiny fraction at her husband and Kinsman, then arches an eyebrow at the Elf.
Ciaphias says, 'We owe you alot, friend.'
Roanias says, 'Has anyone seen Katanasoku?'
Ealdread looks down at the coin with an arched brow. "Gehola.... There is no need."
Coltsfoot says, 'Who?'
Ciaphias says, 'I insist.'
Roanias says, 'Ugh never mind.' He frantically searches the Kin-House
Ealdread says, 'You are too kind, gehola. This will not be forgotten.'
Coltsfoot looks to Ealdread and grins. "There's much ta be explained ta me. Please... tend ta this Elf stranger before I shoot him fer trespassin'."
Ealdread smiles, and puts the coins into his purse.
Ciaphias says, 'Neither will your actions.'
Ealdread nods to both of them, and smiles.
Coltsfoot looks curiously to her husband then tries to look grim and not overjoyed.
Ciaphias says, 'Good hunting.' He sits down next to her on the bed and glances at Colts with a soft smile. 'Hello, love.'
Coltsfoot smiles softly. "Less get some rest an' I'll kill ya tomorrow." She plants a soft kiss on Ciaphias' cheek.
Ciaphias says, 'Sounds fine to me.'
Ealdread says, 'I am to retire for the evening. Be well, both of you.'
Coltsfoot smiles and yawns sleepily. She says to Ciaphias, "Yer dead in tha morning. An' I love ya."
Ciaphias grins and lies down. 'I'll sleep with my armor on, then.'
Coltsfoot nods and grins. "Do that. An' yer helmet. I'm gonna kill ya I promise."
