Here's a few pics of us at the Ren Faire over the weekend. I posted them in order of my sobriety. *winks* Of all the people to run into, out of traveling through two states to get there, I see my little brother. LOL! He's a handsome pirate, and only 16, ladies. We're at our first round of jousting. By now I've got three cups of a nice Reisling in me. Amari won the feather for me at archery. He did a LOT better than I did, but in his exact words, "I'm more of a melee class." Seriously. Those words were spoken aloud. Ya. We're cool. Popular. Everyone wants to hang out with us. Including Ents. This guy was AWESOME! He scared the crap outta little kids who didn't know he was a real guy. Note my rose (I got a guy to "wax me," meaning dip it in wax to preserve it, but my tipsy wording got a laugh out of the surly candle carny) and my ever-present booze. Heehee. Finally, on the way out, we stopped to listen to these guys again. I bought their CD, and not just because Karma Kula was the drummer! We're totally going to see if the dude with the hurdy-gurdy does weddings. Not kidding. And at this point I've had maybe six cups of wine, I swear to keep from freezing to death. Srsly.I can't wait to do it again next year! Though I'll be sure to wear more clothes. BRRRRRR!

I think this one travels the East Coast to Florida and back to the mid-Atlantic. This is the end of their season. Imma try to put up a lil music video of the guys playing at the end. I can't tell you how cool they were! We only have a few pics and TONS of video. It was awesome.

cool beans... does she need help? cuz we'd totally quit our jobs and follow her around ren faires as wandering vagabond helper types Heh. Well, she didn't do the ren faires alone. It started as an AD&D gaming group actually, called the Abbython Adventurer's Guild. Then they started going to ren faires together, then they started actually going to ren faires as street performers, then they got a booth and started selling various crafts, then came the first shop, then they moved from that little shop to the big shop they have now, which actually doubles as her home. Unfortunately a few years ago she had a bout of breast cancer. So she had to stop traveling to the ren faires though the shop was still going strong. Though the cancer is gone now, I'm not certain if she's traveling again. We didn't talk about it during our last visit.

Actually, if you want to take a look at it, here's the shop's web address. Not much there though.
