General
How does your character feel about herself?
Vali's never given herself that much thought. She values herself, definitely has good self-esteem, but isn't the sort of person to be cerebral about her own existence and self-worth.
How does she feel about her race and choice of profession?
Vali isn't quite sure what the difference IS between Elves and Men. Though she's figuring out there is one. She doesn't have a job because aside from smashing things when she's in a bad temper, has no other talents. And her rage issues mean it would be very hard to find an employer.
How interested is your character in intellectual pursuits?
Vali gathered all knowledge of the world through books for almost all of her life. She's so detached from most of the world that she doesn't understand that there should be value to this.
Is her physical health important to her?
Vali's an Elf. And she's never really thought of her own physical health because as a First-Born she hasn't had to.
Does she think situations through or react on instinct?
That depends on the situation. Vali has very severe anger issues and can't control her temper, even over very small matters. She's very cautious and plans down to the tiniest detail regarding matters that are not emotionally charged for her.
How important is her personal happiness?
Vali doesn't really understand the value of her personal happiness in regards to whether this adds or detracts to the personal happiness of others. She's pretty mellow and accepts things as they come rather than always striving only for her own pleasure.
Does she follow a schedule or just go with the flow?
She's very unstructured regarding time because she's never had to adhere to a schedule or restrictions.
How well does she handle receiving orders?
Not well.
What importance does she place in material possessions?
She doesn't have a real concept of money or personal ownership so she has no value of possessions. She does understand owning her house because she lived there. But she sees money as only coins that are used to barter for the use of an item rather than to purchase it for an established value. She does know what she likes and has developed tastes over time but doesn't attach to items because of this.
What does your character do in her spare time?
Vali spends a lot of time drying flowers and leaves and later preserves them pressed in book pages. She likes to arrange them to make patterns and pictures. She also spends her spare time studying and loves to read books.
Is she open about her personal feelings?
Vali unfortunately has very bad emotional filters. Her fail-safe is being silent and she's unaccustomed to communicating. She had to relearn how to speak because of so many years spent alone and so has a limited vocabulary that expresses things very briefly. Her expression of feelings is mostly through gestures and she can get very frustrated when this isn't adequate. So, yes. She's open... but has a hard time getting them across to people.
Does she ever feel trapped?
Yes. Very.
Is your character...
Optimistic or pessimistic?
Optimistic but this is because she's so innocent. It could easily change over time.

Nice and very pleasant until she loses her temper.
Gentle or Harsh?
Very, very gentle under normal circumstances. Otherwise, incredibly cruel.
Happy or bitter?
Mostly happy but a touch bittersweet.

Any selfishness is because she doesn't understand that she's being selfish. She's a VERY selfless person because she has no value on possessions.

Laid back. She has no choice but to go with whatever happens, so she has to accept it.

Follower. Baaaaah! She's a sheep.

As some people have said, "Weird."

Temperament:
In general, what moods does your character display?
Vali is very, very subdued under normal circumstances. She's shy, overwhelmed around strangers (which is almost everyone), and stays silent almost all the time because she has lost so much of her grasp of language and has to find words in her mind before she says them out loud. She's confused very often because she only understands maybe half of what people say to her. She's very pleasant-natured though, almost always smiling and laughing. Until her emotions are moved to an extreme and she can't control herself.
Can she keep her cool in a tough situation?
Oh hell no.
Does she get upset or bothered easily?
Yes, by some things. Mostly, she's an impartial observer because she doesn't understand what her depth of involvement should be.
Moral, ethical, and religious beliefs:
Under what circumstances would your character lie, cheat, steal, betray, or kill?
She wouldn't lie or betray anyone. She steals because she doesn't know she shouldn't and probably isn't cunning or evasive enough to be a good cheater. She will however use physical violence liberally.
Is there anything she would absolutely refuse to do?
Betray a friend or loved one.
What would she do if she suddenly became rich?
Vali would use all of her "coins" as bartering items for food and such.
Can she keep a secret?
Nobody's asked her to yet, so maybe?
Is there anything your character would die (permanently) for?
Philosophically Vali hasn't thought about circumstances like this. She has a very vague set of morals and nothing that she'd consider worth being a martyr for. However, when she's angry she doesn't think about mortality or danger and would probably get herself killed just because she was pissed.
